Professional Experience
I have concentrated my entire career in business litigation. I have extensive experience litigating a variety of commercial disputes, including shareholder disputes, business torts, business dissolutions, actions for emergency relief, claims involving mechanics liens, bond claims and other construction disputes, trade secrets and unfair competition disputes, mortgage foreclosures, probate litigation and all aspects of business litigation involving the Uniform Commercial Code. In all of these matters, I place a primary emphasis on personally handling the case and getting cost effective results --- whether that is structuring an effective defense strategy or getting to judgment/settlement as quickly as possible. I have also concentrated my practice on searching for assets and collecting judgments, so that your victory in court becomes cash in your bank account.
I also have extensive experience representing physicians and other health care providers in reimbursement claims against private payors, billing companies and claims for and against the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Illinois Departments of Public Health and Public Aid. I have also represented physicians and their practices litigation involving restrictive covenants, practice dissolution, accounting actions and other business disputes involving physician and other provider business practices. I have presented before numerous medical associations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngologists, the American Academy of Surgeons and the Chicago Medical Association and published numerous articles for medical practice journals.
